Important information about T‑Mobile Fiber’s Broadband Internet Access Services and Open Internet Disclosures
T-Mobile Fiber is committed to providing its customers with a great Internet access experience. This page provides information about T-Mobile Fiber’s Broadband Internet Access Services. “Broadband Internet Access Services” refers to services that provide the capability to transmit data to and receive data from all or substantially all Internet endpoints. T-Mobile Fiber’s Broadband Internet Access Services are provided over our fiber providers' wired fiber-optic networks. The network practices and performance characteristics, and T-Mobile Fiber’s commercial terms, are described below. This page also includes links to other T-Mobile Fiber documents containing further information applicable to our Broadband Internet Access Services.
For questions or concerns not addressed here, visit T-Mobile Fiber Support and use the chat feature.
What terms and conditions apply to T‑Mobile Fiber's Broadband Internet Access Services?
T-Mobile Fiber's Broadband Internet Access Services are subject to the T‑Mobile Fiber Terms and Conditions. Specific information about our Broadband Internet Access Services can be found under the heading “WHERE, HOW, AND WHEN DOES MY SERVICE WORK?” Certain uses of our network are also prohibited as described in our Terms and Conditions under the heading " WHAT ARE THE PERMITTED AND PROHIBITED USES FOR MY DEVICE AND THE SERVICE?"
What data plans and pricing does T‑Mobile Fiber offer?
T‑Mobile Fiber presently offers different speed tiers for Broadband Internet Access Service to deliver a range of customer choice, each at a flat monthly rate, without long-term service contracts or early termination fees.
T‑Mobile Fiber does not charge customers a usage-based fee for Broadband Internet Access Service and does not employ volume-based data caps. Bandwidth is provided on a per-customer basis. The customer bandwidth is shared by all connected devices within the customer’s residence. For current pricing, check availability in your area.
What speeds and performance can T‑Mobile Fiber Broadband Internet Access Services customers expect?
Speed
The term “speed” is commonly used as a shorthand way to describe the rate at which a particular Broadband Internet Access Service can transmit data. This rate (or speed) is typically measured in the number of megabits transmitted in one second (Mbps). Some applications like email or basic web browsing do not require a high-data speed to function very well, while other activities like high-definition video streaming or transferring large data files are better experienced with higher data speeds.
Latency
Latency, also known as delay, is the amount of time from when a data packet is sent to when it is received. For Broadband Internet Access Services, latency is usually expressed as the round-trip time in milliseconds (ms) that it takes for a data packet to travel between two end points on the Internet (from point A to point B and then back to point A). Some applications, such as email, can tolerate a substantial amount of latency without any noticeable impact on the application’s performance, while other applications, such as real-time video conferencing, require lower latency to function properly.
Based on our fiber-optic network provider’s internal testing and analysis, T‑Mobile Fiber expects the following projections and subject to the factors described below:
Location | Projections |
---|---|
Network provider:
New York: | Fiber 1 Gig (940Mbps) Customers will experience median symmetrical gigabit upload and download speeds up to 940 Mbps with average symmetrical upload and download speeds between 775 –940 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a metro area. Fiber 300 (300 Mbps) Customers will experience download and upload speeds up to 300 Mbps when using 12 or fewer devices at once. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a metro area. |
Network provider:
Colorado:
Minnesota: | Fiber 2 Gig
Fiber 300 (Pueblo/Northglenn only) |
Network provider:
Wisconsin:
Illinois: | Fiber 2 Gig Customers will experience median symmetrical gigabit upload and download speeds up to 1.88 Gbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. Fiber 1 Gig Customers will experience median symmetrical gigabit upload and download speeds up to 940 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. Fiber 500 Customers will experience download and upload speeds up to 455 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. |
Network provider:
Florida: | Fiber 2 Gig Customers will experience median symmetrical gigabit upload and download speeds between 1700-1850 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. Fiber 1 Gig Customers will experience median symmetrical gigabit upload and download speeds between 775-940 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. Fiber 500 Customers will experience download and upload speeds between 425-475 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. Fiber 300 (Polk County only) Customers will experience download and upload speeds between 275-290 Mbps. Latency typically will not exceed 5 ms round trip time within a market area. |
The speed of Broadband Internet Access Services may vary based on network or Internet congestion, your computer configuration, the capability of websites or other Internet services accessed by you, and the availability and capacity of Content Delivery Networks (“CDNs”), among other factors. Network changes, traffic volume, outages, technical limitations, building access issues, weather events, public safety needs, and other conditions may impact speeds and availability.

How can I measure my data speeds on the network?
If you’re accessing T‑Mobile Fiber’s network via the router included in your service, the easiest way to measure your data speeds on T‑Mobile Fiber’s network is by:
- Installing and setting up the applicable router app on your mobile device (please note that separate terms & conditions + privacy policy apply).
- Once the router app has been set up, follow the directions in the app to see the speed to your device.
You can repeat speed tests on your router app at any time.
There are also online third-party speed tests that measure Internet performance. We have provided links to a few of these sites below for your reference. Please note, however, that all speed tests have limitations and flaws. Each of these tests measures limited aspects of an ISP’s speed and therefore must be seen as a guide rather than definitive measurements of performance.
These tests are heavily dependent on several of the factors outlined above, especially the customer's in-home Wi-Fi network. Therefore, these tests may not necessarily reflect the performance of the network alone.
How does T‑Mobile Fiber manage the flow of data on its network (Network Management)?
T‑Mobile Fiber does not discriminate against lawful Internet content, applications, services, or non-harmful devices. T‑Mobile Fiber may use various tools and techniques to manage its network, deliver its service, and ensure compliance with the T‑Mobile Fiber Terms and Conditions. These tools and techniques are dynamic and can and do change frequently. Network management activities may include detecting malicious Internet traffic and preventing the distribution of, or inadvertent access to, malware, phishing, viruses or other harmful code or content.
As our network technologies and usage of the network continue to evolve, we may implement congestion management measures or other reasonable network management without advance notice to continue to ensure a great broadband Internet access service experience for our customers. Please review this policy for updates on our practices.
Certain uses of our network are also prohibited as described in the T‑Mobile Fiber Terms and Conditions under the heading “WHAT ARE THE PERMITTED AND PROHIBITED USES FOR MY DEVICE AND THE SERVICE?” See our Terms and Conditions for a list of prohibited uses.
